That's Life!

You know how, as a parent, things get screwed up schedule-wise in terms of getting everyone ready for school and work? Today was one of those days.

The girls had taken way too long to "get going" - eating, showering, and dressing. In my haste to help speed things up, I wasn't paying ENOUGH attention.

I grabbed some socks, panties, a T-shirt, and some overalls with Harry Potter's Hedwig on it for my younger daughter. Dropped them in front of her and said, "Get dressed now." I left to tend to my older daughter in the kitchen.

Three minutes later, she came into the kitchen and totally surprised me with how she handled my request. Here is what I saw.

The legs were way too long fer her and she improvised. All on her own.

Made my day. :)

Not only did she improvise but she did it really well. Things like that happen in the rush and I'm glad to see that she is a "roll with it" kinda gal. :)

she has probably been eyeing off her sisters overalls for ages and planning just how she would wear them when she got the chance.
I know I would have wanted the hedwig ones

GoE - no, that was her sister's who is older by 5 years. It doesn't fit her...too small now. :)

ADSL - I told her I thought she did well on her own. She just grinned.

Jewels - I loved how she rolled with it. I would not have pulled the excess up like that. I would have rolled it up. That was amusing.

Mynx - haha on "been eyeing her sister's overalls"! Maybe that is true. ;)

Nitebyrd - she sure did!

I am laughing out loud! Seriously, this is the cutest thing! What a smartie pants she is! Would have loved the expression on her face!

Sandra - She was smiling. Nothing special about that and no, I didn't crop the picture. No way to show her expression. LOL
